Linger

Centered person figure is assembled using acrylic sheets bended by heat. Scattered yellow windmills are connected to the sculpture via electric wire. Electricity generated by blowers rotating the propellers lights up the statue.
As long as we have a body, there are places we cannot physically reach, nor can we possibly go back in time. The body means that we have spatio-temporal constraints. Yet I think we have a longing for such impossibly distant places, places I call "deep". In retrospect, "Linger" was an attempt to give form to the landscape of such a place. There, I am sure, the body is abandoned and exists as a kind of energy body.

たたずむ

中央の人型の彫刻は、アクリル板を熱で曲げて成形している。空間に点在する７つの黄色い風車は、中央の彫刻につながっている。送風機の風によって回転する風車が電気を起こし、彫刻に光が灯る。
私たちが身体を持っている限りは、物理的に到達できない場所があり、また過去に行くこともおそらくできない。身体は私たちに時空間的な制約を与えるということだ。それでも私たちは、そのようなどうしようもなく遠いところ、私が「深い」と考えるところへの憧れを持っていると思う。後から振り返れば、《たたずむ》は、そのようなところの風景にかたちを与えようとしたものだった。そこではきっと、身体は捨て去られ、ある種のエネルギー体のようなものとして在るのではないかと思う。
