Kohei Hosogaya (born 1992 in Nagano, Japan) is sculptor, lives and works in Sendai, Japan.
He considers the experience of events that occur on a spatio-temporal scale far beyond the human senses. The projects will be developed as sculptures, installations or curated exhibitions, referencing monuments to natural disasters and geological methods of inferring the history of the earth.
He has a doctorate in art with research in sculpture and is currently doing a doctorate in geology. He tries to treat both equally, looking for representations that cannot be made without either artistic or geological knowledge. As well as exhibiting his work, he curates exhibitions that combine natural history and art.
